The Apparel, Textiles and Merchandising program at Central Washington University has prepared me greatly for a career in the fashion industry. I have gained the skills and knowledge needed to successfully contribute to the fashion industry. Because of the ATM program I was able to do hands on work as well as learn through lectures, homework and research. Fashion Show Production taught me all the ends and outs of creating and producing a fashion show. Basic Sewing taught me how a garment is created from start to finish. Consumer Textiles taught me about fibers, knits, weaves, dyes, finishes and more. The courses offered opened my eyes to the many possible careers paths, along with preparing me with design knowledge and skills as well as an understanding for retail math operations. Because of the courses I have completed in the ATM program at CWU, I am prepared to be a fashion professional in the industry.
